Young Rock is a popular American sitcom that premiered in February 2021 on NBC. The series is a semi-biographical account of the life of the former professional wrestler and Hollywood actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The show chronicles Johnson’s life during his formative years, exploring his experiences growing up in various locations across the globe and his eventual rise to fame. The role of Johnson in the sitcom is played by three different actors. Adrian Groulx portrays him as a 10-year-old, Bradley Constant as a 15-year-old, and Uli Latukefu as a college-aged Johnson.

Dwayne Johnson Liked To Be Called As Tomás

A shocking fact about the Red Notice star was revealed in the sitcom which stated that the young Johnson was not comfortable with his name and would share his fake name in the school. In one of the episodes, Constant’s character was shown claiming the name Tomás as his own. The young Johnson in the sitcom justified his usage of a false name by stating that the name Tomás sounds much cooler and impresses girls. It was shown that girls would call Johnson’s house asking for Tomás and the young Johnson would rush to snatch the phone from his mom.

Dwayne Johnson in an interview explained his reasons for using a false name and stated he had an identity crisis. The Rock admitted that girls would ask for Tomás when they called him.

“Clearly, I had an identity crisis. I didn’t want to be known as Dwayne. Girls used to call the house and ask for Tomás”
