The “Levitating” artist, 26, posted on Instagram Saturday to share pH๏τos of herself and four friends (including her sister, model Rina Lipa) sporting colorful ʙικιɴιs — and, in the case of Lipa, a matching pair of orange sunglᴀsses. The three-time Grammy winner captioned the post, “Sunbums.”
Lipa is currently in the midst of her Future Nostalgia world tour, which was postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Her most recent stop on the tour was an August 10 concert in Budapest. She’s currently on a break until September — and clearly, making the most of it by hanging out with her friends.
When she’s not relaxing and performing, Lipa is also donating her time to a good cause. Earlier this week, she shared on Instagram that she is involved with a music foundation.
In an April interview with NPR, Lipa spoke about overcoming self-doubt in her career by focusing on her music.
“I was at a point where I was so happy, I was doing everything that I wanted to, but then there were people who made me feel like maybe I wasn’t good enough or I didn’t deserve to be there, I wasn’t cut out to be a musician,” she shared. “I realized that what anyone says doesn’t actually matter. It was something that I learned during the period of writing Future Nostalgia — I was able to shut people out. Now, if anybody says anything, it doesn’t even bother me. Nothing even cuts through, because I realized that if you’re pᴀssionate about something and you’re good at your job and you write from the heart, no one can take that away from you. I had to take myself off Twitter, but if that’s going to help me and my mental health and allow me to thrive in whatever way I choose to, that has been a saving grace.”
