Taylor Swift’s latest charitable spree continues. Last week the singer donated $50,000 to Louisiana public schools that were impacted by the massive flooding that devastated the Baton Rouge area in August.
According to the release, “Five of the district’s 27 schools are closed due to flooding impacts, displacing 5,000 students,” and more than 500 public school employees’ homes were damaged.
Thank you @taylorswift13 for your generous $50K donation to our schools’ flood recovery! #2016flood #AscensionStrong https://t.co/vEa4YsiZkQ

This isn’t the only time Swift has reached into her pockets to help in the aftermath of the historic disaster. Last month the 26-year-old pop princess announced that she would be donating $1 million to help the recovery process in the state she said so warmly welcomed her when she kicked off the U.S. dates of her tour last year.
