Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) finds Swift reuniting with Aaron Dessner as a co-producer on several “From the Vault” songs: “Electric Touch (feat. Fall Out Boy),” “When Emma Falls in Love,” and “Foolish One.” Meanwhile, Jack Antonoff co-produced the tracks “Castles Crumbling (feat. Hayley Williams),” “I Can See You,” and “Timeless” with Swift. The rest of the album was co-produced by Swift and Christopher Rowe.
In 2019, Swift announced that she would re-record her first six albums—from her 2006 self-titled debut through 2017’s Reputation—in order to regain control of her masters. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is Swift’s third re-recorded full-length, following Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version). Ahead of the full release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), Swift previewed “Back to December (Taylor’s Version)” in a trailer for the new season of the Prime Video series The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Swift released Midnights, her latest LP of new material, last year. The singer is currently playing shows in North America on the Eras Tour, which continues through 2024 with stops in the United Kingdom, Europe, Japan, Singapore, and Australia.
