Taylor Swift stepped out in wine red over the weekend when she served as one of the bridesmaids at her high school BFF Abigail Anderson’s wedding in Martha’s Vineyard. Taylor let her hair down, wore dark lipstick (also in wine red), and carried the bride’s gorgeous light pink and white train. And then she gave a speech. Actually, it was more of a roast of the bride and groom. You see, one time, very early into their relationship, Abigail and her bae, photographer Matt Lucier, were caught in the heat of a moment. And Taylor was there to witness it. Sort of. As Taylor describes in a clip provided by a fan account, “She’s running after him. There’s falling. There’s stumbling … They make it to the bathroom, and I hear sounds that I can never un-hear. And then there’s silence.”
It’s too bad the clip cuts off right when the story picks up. What did Taylor do after hearing the sound of silence? Did Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” play right after Taylor’s speech? Did the wedding guest who was recording Taylor’s speech get a talking to? Did Abigail chime in? I mean, she did look pretty entertained.
Until a longer clip surfaces, there’s no better time than now to revisit Taylor’s maid of honor speech from last March, when she watched her other BFF Britany Maack, aka her “partner in crime at Bronies sleep-away camp,” tie the knot. Taylor’s speech starts around the 6:40 mark. Have at least one tissue handy.
