As Al-Nassr’s dismal start to the season continued, CRISTIANO RONALDO botched a one-on-one.
When his team fell against Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson’s Al-Ettifaq in their Saudi Pro League opener last week, the Portuguese great was hurt.
Cristiano Ronaldo had the chance to score for Al-Nassr
But fluffed his lines and lost the ball
He was back in action against Al-Taawoun, but he could have wished he wasn’t.
Ronaldo began for Al-Nassr alongside Sadio Mane, Marcelo Brozovic, Anderson Talisca, and Seko Fofana.
However, they were unable to prevent Taawoun star Leandre Tawamba from giving the visitors a shocking lead in the 0th minute.
And when Ronaldo had a fantastic opportunity to tie the game up after the break, he absolutely fluffed his lines.
The Manchester United and Real Madrid legend grabbed onto a through ball and had just the goalkeeper to beat.
He paused, however, and attempted to round the goalkeeper before being dispossessed by the retreating defenders.
Ronaldo might have been flagged offside had he scored.
Fans, however, could not believe it as they watched on, with several pointing out that the former Manchester United star’s deterioration is beginning to show.
One Tweeted: “This decline is honestly sad to see…”
A second commented: “He’s finished.”
A third wrote: “Really sad to see man 💔.”
A fourth said: “That’s rough man.”
While another added: “Honestly a sad sight.”
Ronaldo subsequently missed the post with another wonderful chance, and Al-Nassr paid the price as Taawoun’s Ahmed Bahusayn clinched the win in stoppage time.
Al-Nassr finished second in the Saudi Pro League last season and will face a difficult job this season to win the championship.
Many European talents have moved to high-wage clubs in the league, all of which will be vying for the title.
