Watch: Rahul Dravid consoles heartbroken Virat Kohli after another cheap dismissal

In six innings so far, Virat Kohli scored four single-digit scores in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

New Delhi: India head coach Rahul Dravid was caught consoling Virat Kohli after the latter was once again dismissed for single digits against England in the T20 World Cup 2024 semifinal in Guyana on Thursday. Kohli, who is having a tough time in this tournament, started on a bright note with a six off Reece Topley before being cleaned up by the same bowler inside the powerplay. The former India captain managed to score just nine runs – his fourth single-digit score in this tournament.

Kohli started slowly dispatching his Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammate Reece Topley for six over the mid-wicket fence. He took a double in the next ball before being bowled in the next ball. This was also the first time Kohli had scored less than 10 runs in the T20 World Cup semifinals.

Earlier, rain stopped play with India reaching 65/2 in eight overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav were batting on 37 and 13 respectively when the heavens opened up again. Sent into bat after the start of the match was delayed by more than one hour, India lost Virat Kohli early and Rishabh Pant too feel cheaply, but Rohit remained positive and got the boundaries every now and then to keep England on their toes.
