Floyd Mayweather recently purchased this Miami Beach estate
Floyd Mayweather Jr., a retired boxing champion, has just spent $18M on a stunning new waterfront estate in Miami Beach.
The contemporary three-story residence is located on the city’s affluent and guard-gated Palm Island, an enclave where the average asking price for a home in July was $21M, a staggering 200 percent increase from the same time in 2020, according to data from realtor.com.
He spent $18 million on the property
Forbes crowned Floyd Mayweather, 44, the decade’s highest-paid athlete in 2019 after he earned $915 million over a 10-year period. According to public records, he made the purchase last week through a Nevada-based limited liability company that he manages.
According to the listing with Dina Goldentayer and Ana Viyella of Douglas Elliman, who declined to comment on the transaction, his lavish new home spans 10,853 square feet and offers unobstructed views of the city skyline, passing cruise ships, and the coveted city sunset.
The nine-bedroom mansion was designed for domestic and outdoor enjoyment, according to the listing. It has an indoor movie theater, a gym, a game room, a large entertainment area, smart-home systems, and an elevator, as well as neutral, contemporary interiors.
In addition, there is a rooftop terrace, a pool, a four-car garage, and a private dock that can accommodate 100-foot boats.
Mr. Mayweather was represented by Tanasha Pettigrew of Galleria International Realty during the transaction.
This latest addition to Mr. Mayweather’s real estate portfolio joins an extravagant Las Vegas mansion he purchased for $10 million in 2018 and a French Modern-style Beverly Hills estate he purchased for $26 million in 2017.
Mr. Mayweather, who earned a featherweight bronze medal at the 1996 Olympics, retired in August 2017 with a perfect record.
The boxer’s representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
